The oddly named Meteor is a really great action/adventure game. As a soldier, you must complete various missions. There can be different objectives, but most end up being sorta like "kill all the guys dressed in red". (Your guy is dressed in green.) That's okay though because the game's graphics, sounds, and gameplay are all great! Lots of shooting/explosions, definitely a fun game for action fans.Meteor is a classic DOS-based game released in the early 1990s. It is an arcade-style game that features fast-paced action and often involves controlling a character, spaceship, or vehicle to either defend against or destroy incoming meteors or enemies. Given its simple yet addictive gameplay, Meteor can be seen as one of those retro games that offered fun and challenging experiences, utilizing the limited hardware capabilities of DOS computers at the time.Meteor is likely an arcade-style shooter where the main objective is to survive waves of meteors (or other objects) that descend upon the player, often accompanied by various challenges or obstacles. The game may follow a simple formula where the player must either dodge or destroy these objects, leading to progressively harder levels as time goes on. Core Gameplay Mechanics: Player Control: In Meteor, the player likely controls a spaceship, turret, or similar vehicle that can move horizontally or vertically. The ship or vehicle is responsible for shooting down incoming meteors or enemies. Meteors or Obstacles: The primary threat comes in the form of meteors, which may fall from the top of the screen toward the player. In some versions of the game, there may also be additional enemies or obstacles that need to be avoided or destroyed. Shooting Mechanic: Players would typically use a shooting mechanic to destroy the meteors. The player's weapon might be upgraded throughout the game or have limited ammo that requires careful management. Progressive Difficulty: As with many arcade-style games, Meteor likely increases in difficulty as the player advances. This could involve faster or more numerous meteors, new enemy types, or more complex levels. Power-ups and Bonuses: In some versions of the game, power-ups might be available to help the player, such as extra lives, stronger weapons, or shields. Objective: The goal of Meteor is often to survive as long as possible while trying to rack up the highest score. Players may face increasingly difficult waves, and each successful wave might bring new meteor types or enemies.
